Could you come over later, whenever you're free? I have something I want to talk to you about.

[The message, text in form, is carefully lacking any emotional hints as to what exactly, he wanted to talk about..... and that's quite deliberate on Ayumu's part.

It had taken awhile for Ayumu to get up the guts, to feel ready for this conversation.... but now that he had, he knew he needed to see this through. Leaving secrets hanging between him and the people he cared about, he'd learned, always did more harm than good eventually. He didn't want that.]

[ The absence of emotional hints is a hint in and of itself. It makes her wary, though she's sure to respond immediately and wipe every trace of apprehension from her message: ]

Sure. Just gimme a minute.

You'll make food, right?

Of course. It is getting to be just about lunch time.

[Not that he was feeling hungry, but he already had the ingredients prepped regardless.]

[Ayumu answers the door, offering her a smile as he steps aside to allow her in. Something smells good and savory, at least, so lunch must be in progress somewhere--]

I'm just finishing up lunch. Feel free to relax while I bring everything out.

[Or she could follow him into the kitchen, where he's plating some sweet and savory smelling chicken. There's also a refreshing looking salad with leafy greens and what looks like nuts and pomegranate seeds or something similar, and a decent sized bowl of steaming rice. He'll bring everything out to the table, already set for two.

Odd, perhaps, that no one else would be joining them today.]

So, where're Hizumi-kun and Frisk?

[ Gosh, his cooking always smells amazing and it reminds her exactly why he wants to make him her bride. . . but the two place settings are rather suspicious. . . ]

Is this a date or something?

[There's a faint, faint tint of pink in his cheeks, but it fades fairly quickly as he shakes his head. Really? He knew what she was doing, but really?]

Of course not. They're both out this afternoon, that's all. They'll be back in time for dinner tonight. We're having curry.

[Probably the reason for that pressure cooker going back on the kitchen counter. He sets out the dishes, all in easy reach so Hiyono can serve herself. He'll serve himself salad more than anything, not really all that hungry. In reality, he'd nudged them both into activities that would keep them out until evening.]

[ Is what her response would sound like, if she wasn't stuffing her face while serving herself. Mmm, chicken.

This is the woman you've hitched yourself to, Narumi Ayumu. Are you sure you want to proceed? ]

Mmmhm. A warm curry will be nice after a chilly day like today.

[Listen, he isn't going to stop now..... though he might wait until she's gotten a decent bit of lunch in before actually proceeding to the talking bit. She certainly seemed hungry. In the meantime, he'll nibble his salad for awhile, perhaps seeming a little restless.]

[It had been awhile by Ayumu's reckoning since he'd had a chance to spend time with Hiyono, just the two of them. Having Hizumi or others around was all well and good, but sometimes..... well.

It was alright to want a little time with her to himself, right? Without cat ears and tons of other people, anyway.]

Would you like to go out to lunch? I'm off this afternoon.

[ She lays the faux offense on thick, but the feeling carried with it is all amusement. And excitement. Narumi-san's cooking always makes her happy. ]

I'm feeling merciful today, so make whatever you think I'd like. We'll have a picnic.

A good idea. It was a nice day today, after all.]

I can do that. I can even think of a few good places to have one, unless you have somewhere specific in mind.

No, I was thinking of a small park a little way off from the market. I stop there sometimes during shopping trips.

[The message is out of the blue-- or not, considering the current events. Oddly enough, there's no real worry or concern attached.]

Hizumi is in the slums causing trouble, and I need to capture him. I could use some backup.

[ That feeling is... unsettling in its familiarity, except she doesn't expect that tone from Ayumu. She becomes just as detached in turn. ]

What's the plan?

[... Her suspicions are more on target than not, unfortunately.]

A surprise attack. He'll be expecting me to kill him, and I'll need to catch him off guard if I want to bring him home alive. I have Dunamis I can use to debilitate, but that won't be enough.

So you want me to knock him out.

What kind of surprise attack are you thinking of?

Knock him out, or buy me an opening in which I can knock him out.

I plan to engage him first, but I want you in the shadows waiting for my signal. Which brings me to my next question: Do you have any Dunamis you can use?

I haven't used it on him before, but he knows what I'm capable of.

He might know what you're capable of, but if I keep you in reserve until there's an opening, he won't know you're there. Do you have anything that will be useful in stunning him? Blinding him, maybe?
