Better not to be blindsided. Well then... everything begins with the Creators, who made God and the Devil, and the first man, Adam, and woman, Eve. Normally, they would have been put the chessboard in pairs, but something went wrong... and the Devil spent his formative years on Earth alone.
For the purposes of my world, this Devil is the man known as Mizushiro Yaiba. His counterpart, God to his Devil, Eve to his Adam, would be born sixteen years later, in the form of Narumi Kiyotaka. Thus, the stage was set for the destruction of one or the other.
At the age of twenty, just like a switch, something had awakened in Yaiba's mind... and his mission became the destruction of humanity. The fact he had come from a loving home and had grown into a successful, charismatic man beloved by those around him, didn't matter at all. So he worked toward creating his instruments of destruction. Children with his genes, known as the Blade Children.
[ there's a note of disgust when she goes on to say: ]
Families eager to add a man of success and prestige to their gene pool offered to bear and raise his progeny, and true enough, his children were beautiful, charismatic and intelligent beyond their years. Anyone would call such children a gift, except at a very young age, violent behavior also began to manifest, signs of what would come when they reached maturity. They were time bombs, engineered to put themselves in positions of power, and when they reached the age of twenty, they would destroy the world that lifted them up.
[ that seems like a decent spot to stop and let that marinate ]
Much like Yaiba before him, Kiyotaka awakened as "God" when he turned twenty, and fulfilled his destiny by defeating Yaiba, who died.
But it wasn't over. The Blade Children were already out in the world, and while many of them were... essentially hunted down before they could become greater threats, around sixty still remained. Some pretended to lead normal lives, some had already risen to fame with their talent, others used their skill for murder to enter the military...
There were also two additions to the board, born a year after the Blade Children: The ones destined to continue the battle after Yaiba and Kiyotaka. That's Izanagi and Chrysanthemum.
Re: Day 252, Post-Live
That goes both ways.
Re: Day 252, Post-Live
Yeah. An' I'm grateful.
Re: Day 252, Post-Live
[ she takes a deep breath, and while making eye contact, she uses a firm, clear voice to say: ]
I love you.
Re: Day 252, Post-Live
Thank you.
Re: Day 252, Post-Live
No, thank you for making me believe it was possible in the first place.
Re: Day 252, Post-Live
Always happy to help. And... so, so glad.
Re: Day 252, Post-Live
Wait. ]
Weren't we supposed to read a book?
[ but her hands don't leave his sides, quite comfortable with forgetting the book completely ]
Re: Day 252, Post-Live
[yeah, no, snuggles tho]
Re: Day 252, Post-Live
Would you like to hear about the place I came from? It was accidentally made public, so I don't mind sharing it.
But.... it is heavy, so I'm fine with leaving it aside, too.
